Saints Nation: Carl Nicks and Marques Colston Named to Top 100 NFL Players

Saints Nation: Carl Nicks and Marques Colston Named to Top 100 NFL Players The NFL Network is unveiling the top 100 players in the league and yesterday marked the first time the Saints had players named. Coming in at #55 overall was guard Carl Nicks, and at #53 was receiver Marques Colston. Both are integral parts of the roster and very deserving of places on the top 100. I assume Drew Brees, Jonathan Vilma, and Jahri Evans will all find their place on the list soon enough as well.

Nicks made his very first Pro Bowl this past year and he was ranked by PFF as the #1 rated guard in the entire league.

Colston has still not made it the Pro Bowl yet, somehow, but he eclipsed 1,000 yards for the fourth time in 5 seasons with the Saints last year. In 5 years, Colston has totalled 369 receptions, 5,097 yards and 40 touchdowns.

Congrats to both players on this recognition, I feel like both players are elite NFL players that seldom get the national respect they deserve. It’s amazing to me how inferior players around the league always get more credit than these two. This does prove that Nicks and Colston aren’t flying under the radar that much anymore. Now we just need to get Colston to the Pro Bowl, which is long overdue.
