Saints Nation: DraftSeason Mock Draft

Goncharshrug

As you know, each season I make a mock draft of my own for the entire first round but we're still a few weeks away from that. In the meantime, I participated in DraftSeason's Mock Draft over the weekend picking for the Saints. You can check out the entire 1st round mock by CLICKING HERE. Interesting to note that Barkevious Mingo of LSU went second overall, Kevin Minter of LSU went 20th overall to the Bears, Dion Jordan went 4th, Ziggy Ansah went 13th and Star Lotulelei went 14th. Those are all guys I had my eye on with the exception of Minter, though still notable because of his local ties. Sam Montgomery of LSU fell out of the first round.

I ended up going with…

Kenny Vaccaro, the safety out of Texas, with the 15th pick.  I strongly considered Jarvis Jones (who went 18th) and Damonte Moore (who went 24th) but passed on them due to health concerns and poor combine performance respectively. You'll also notice a lot of really good players fell out of the first round in this mock, which I do think will happen even more so with the real draft because I think more quarterbacks will get drafted early. Too bad the Saints don't have a 2nd round pick to take advantage of. Thanks Roger. And more seriously, thanks to Matt Falk for including me on this mock!

Who would you have taken 15th based on what was available? Seems like many of you would prefer taking a chance of Jarvis Jones.
