The Saints are 6-2 at the half way point and we've got 8 games of grades to go with now. Overall the grades are pretty good, but of course the offense is way down and the defense is way up compared to last year. Below I've listed every player I've graded, through 8 games, from best to worst. To "qualify" you had to play a minimum of 4 "graded" games. Just so I'm clear, playing in 4 games doesn't necessarily constitute 4 "graded" games, as I don't grade every special teams kick coverer. My offensive player of the midseason is Jimmy Graham, my defensive player of the midseason is David Hawthorne and my special teams player of the midseason is Thomas Morstead. While Morstead's GPA is highest, I'm giving midseason MVP to Graham because the impact on offense at a slightly less consistent rate is still more valuable than special teams. Here's the list:
Thomas Morstead 3.58 (8 games graded)
Jimmy Graham 3.17 (8 games)
David Hawthorne 3.12 (8 games)
Drew Brees 3.09 (8 games)
Curtis Lofton 3.04 (8 games)
