Lots of questions so let’s dive in. Thanks for your help in creating a post for me!
@SaintsNationBlg you can hit a home run at one position in the Offseason… Which one do you choose?
— supersaiyansaint (@kirus16) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsDefensive coordinator? I kid, I kid. I think for me the clear issues are run stuffing and pass rush. I would be happy with either addressed in a very serious way. Because teams pass so much if I have to pick one I’d go with pass rush. I think a garbage run defense is easier to survive with than ever because no one can stand committing to the run. The Redskins were the first team to really do that and we saw how that worked out… I think if the Saints had this defense in the 80s they were never see a passing play. But as the league is currently constructed I think I want an explosive pass rusher.
@SaintsNationBlg I drank only beer during two game losing streak, am I just as responsible for losing streak as Rob Ryan.
— Ralph Malbrough (@SaintsForecast) November 21, 2015

You know I’m extremely superstitious, so yes. Make sure you drink Crown next time or it’s on you.
@SaintsNationBlg that zero blitz where Byrd got the sack vs. WASH was delightful. Can we expect more of that from Dennis Allen?
— Ralph Malbrough (@SaintsForecast) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsRob Ryan is more about random timely blitzes, whereas Dennis Allen is more about disguise, confusion and yes – blitzing. That could be a disaster with how bad the depth is, how young the players are, and how little time they’ve had to work on a new scheme or concept. It will be hard for Allen to change much at this point so he’ll have to work with what’s been installed. But yes, I definitely expect a lot more blitzing. And as bad as the pass rush is when Cam Jordan is neutralized, I think this has to happen.
@SaintsNationBlg did he sabotage the defense to get full control of the defense
— Saints (10-6) (@MrTweetYoGirl) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
I assume you’re asking about Dennis Allen, haha. He had his hand in the failure, for sure. It’s naive to think he’ll be a raging success when he played a part in how bad they were to begin with. I am interested in seeing what happens with him calling the game by himself. But I think it’s pretty clear why they are awful and that has nothing to do with Allen: They have no pass rush, the second level tackling is horrible, they have no depth so any injury is a death blow, and Brandon Browner’s penalties have completely killed them.
@SaintsNationBlg any offseason trades or big signings to expect
— William (@Washywoes) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsIt’s going to be another big revamp offseason. I expect Marques Colston, Jahri Evans, David Hawthorne, maybe Brandon Browner to be gone. Beyond that it’s going to be interesting to see what the Saints do with Drew Brees and Jairus Byrd’s contracts. Given the cap space they take up I can’t say with 100% certainty that either will be back in 2016. Once the Saints open up cap room by tweaking the deals of Colston, Evans and Brees they’ll have a little cap space to operate. Sean Payton and Drew Brees are the last real assets the Saints have left, along with Brandin Cooks, Terron Armstead, Max Unger and Cam Jordan. I think if they want to get more draft picks they’ll have to part ways with one of those. I would expect to see the Saints spend real money on a guard and a pass rusher. Hopefully.
@SaintsNationBlg Breaux has continued to grade out well. Are we a healthy starting corner away from a respectable secondary?
— Paddy O’ (@PatrickORly) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
It’s too bad we’re going to go this whole season without seeing Keenan Lewis healthy because a Breaux-Lewis tandem would have been pretty special. Hopefully that’s in the cards for next year. At this point it’s clear to me Breaux is a plus starting quality corner. I’m really encouraged in the Breaux-Lewis-Swann trio potential. Maybe P. J. Williams figures into the mix next year too.
@SaintsNationBlg is it just me, or does JPP’s glove look like the Hamburger Helper Mitt? pic.twitter.com/LjLjjqP1Rr
— Cha-Ching! (@Bitter1one) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsWow, man. You need to put this out there aggressively. This has viral potential.
@SaintsNationBlg Prediction on if Rob Ryan will trash the Saints on Game Day Morning or have nothing but love for the opportunity given?
— Steven D. (@steven3210) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
This is going to be interesting. The Ryans never mince words and tend to wear their hearts on their sleeves. I also think he was given every opportunity to succeed and didn’t. I think it’ll be a little bit of both. He’ll catch himself going down a path where he’s critical and then he’ll quickly say he’s rooting for them or whatever. I don’t expect him to be fully positive, though. So it’ll be interesting to listen to, I have a feeling it’s going to be a good listen and he’ll get a pot shot in or two.
@SaintsNationBlg favorite thanksgiving side dish?

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsYams with as much marshmallows as possible on top, please.
@SaintsNationBlg where do you see the saints in 5 years? after we pay everyone off and Brees is gone.
— Breck Kline (@b_kline4) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Man, this is a complete wasteland of uncertainty. I don’t even know what the ownership situation looks like in 5 years. Let alone the GM, the coach, the players etc… My hope is that a culture has been built in this last decade that provides a breeding ground for success. If you look at the state of the team and city in 2006, it’s kind of a miracle they were able to win immediately. They’ll be set up to succeed a lot more post Payton/Brees. It will take winning without a QB of Brees’s level, though. We’ve been spoiled going into every game with that advantage for the last decade.
@SaintsNationBlg how do we separate ourselves from Brandon Browner? Do we draft a QB again this year or a WR? DE or DT?
— Kellus Hvnbnd (@KHillTheFirst) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsCutting Browner would say $1 million in cap space. The bad news is it would be about $5 million in dead money (UGH), so we might be blowing up our cap a little more in 2016 to set it up for 2017, but it’s possible he’s released. I don’t think the Saints draft a QB. They will definitely draft a lot on the D-line and I expect a receiver for sure, yes.
@SaintsNationBlg how much should I pay (per ticket) to see the Saints in Houston next week?
— Nikki F Sikk (@NikkiFSikk) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
$5? Nah, I’m kidding. The NFL is always a fantastic gameday experience regardless of the team’s records. I had fun even in Washington despite the blowout. Just go tailgate and meet random fans, that’s part of the fun. And Saints fans are always so welcoming. I think you should pay up to $100 a ticket with zero regrets. Wear your jersey proudly and enjoy the experience. That’s what life is all about.
@SaintsNationBlg will (hopefully) simpler be better? I heard a few weeks ago Corey White was cracking jokes about size of Ryan’s…playbook
— Randy Caudle (@randyc5280) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsI wonder if Corey White might get re-signed? Man that would be awful. I do think it’s funny he got waived due to behavior by the same team that employs Greg Hardy. I don’t think things will be simpler with Allen. I think they’ll be more complex. But the biggest key is getting healthy. If they stay injured it doesn’t matter what they do differently.
@SaintsNationBlg Do we still wish we drafted Danny Shelton over Peat?
— no lemonade (@nolemonade) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Shelton hasn’t had an amazing season but I still think he’s going to be a good player. Given the choice between the two I’d still pick him. Peat has already been injured, isn’t a starter, and there is no guarantee he’ll be any good. But both positions they play are a major need in the future for the franchise, so I’m fine with Peat as long as he works out. If you offered me a straight up trade right now, though, I’m taking it without a shadow of doubt and never looking back. Sorry, Andrus.
@SaintsNationBlg If it were the end of the season, and Sean Payton was not the coach…who are the top 5 candidates to replace him.
— Tom Wagner (@Voodoo_Yeti) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsBrutal! I hope Payton stays personally. If not, though, I’d consider: Hue Jackson (OC of the Bengals), Jon Gruden if they can talk him out of ESPN, Sean McDermott (Panthers DC), Nick Saban (Alabama) – just kidding, sort of, and I’ll say Teryl Austin (DC of Lions). The reason I like McDermott and Austin is you’re potentially pairing Brees with a defensive guru to help him more than Payton has.
@SaintsNationBlg Will Drew retire in New Orleans?
— ⚜T$⚜ (@BackhandSauce15) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Eventually, yes, but not before playing with someone else. I am going to make that prediction that Brees will play with another team before retiring. Just a hunch. The Saints’ cap is a mess and Brees is getting older. The same thing happened with Peyton Manning. I don’t know when it’ll happen but the longer Brees wants to play the harder it will be for the Saints to justify keeping him. Certainly hope he’s back next year, though.
@SaintsNationBlg Do you expect a difference in the defense under Dennis Allen? although it can’t possibly be any worse
— Tyler Cooley (@lsufan23) November 21, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
I addressed that above but I think you’ll see more blitzing. It could mean more big plays – both good and bad. I think the end result will be about the same but at least we’ll see more excitement?
