Nothing is official at this point, but a deal is in place and the NFLPA is set to vote on it sometime today. ESPN’s John Clayton said that the vote approval is at “99%”, so the lockout should end today.
While it is yet to be official, it looks like the Saints players will report to the team’s facilities on Thursday, have a bunch of introductory things and then fully start practice on Friday in preperation for their first preseason game on 8/12 (49ers at home).
ESPN posted this timeline which suggests teams will be able to re-sign their free agents as soon as today, and teams will be able to sign unrestricted free agents as soon as tomorrow. Reports since then have disputed that timeline. Some media outlets are reporting…
that we may have to wait till Friday for free agency to start.
Regardless of when free agency, expect news to start pouring in quickly this week. Business will be back up and running today, officially, and news will trickle like dominoes for quite some time. I’ll be on my game reporting the latest to keep you guys informed!
And hey, the lockout is almost over. WHO DAT!
