As awesome as this play was, the symbolism behind it made it more special. Vilma was supposed to be suspended for the entire 2012 season and for him to make this play in week 17 was the ultimate middle finger to Roger Goodell. Too bad this game otherwise put the exclamation point on a 7-9 season dominated by horrendous defensive play, and ended in a loss. Still, Vilma will always be remembered as an immortalized Saint and this play nicely bookends what could have been the last game of his career in black and gold. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to embed this play but you can watch it by going HERE.
