The Saints’ first bulk camp cuts had a few surprise names. Specifically, linebacker Troy Evans and receiver Rod Harper, who both made the final 53 last year, were sent packing. The others released were veteran receiver Mark Bradley, guard Tim Duckworth and cornerback Danny Gorrer. While none of these players were huge shocks, Evans was one that stood a decent chance to make the roster. He had been on the team for the last three seasons as a special teams standout.
What does all this mean? Not much, except that Adrian Arrington and maybe Clint Ingram are a step closer to making the team. We’ll have to see how it plays out.
