Saints Nation: Saints Drop From #4 to #6 in Bloguin's NFL Power Rankings

No surprise, but thanks to the loss to the Ravens, the Saints have dropped from #4 overall to #6 overall in the Bloguin NFL Power Rankings. The Eagles and Falcons remain the only two NFC teams ranked higher than the Saints, with the Falcons at #2 right behind the Patriots. The Ravens have leapfrogged the Saints, as expected, with that win. Tampa, meanwhile, dropped 2 places to #15 after a loss to the Lions and Carolina moved up one place to #31 with a rare win.

Another items I failed to mention in my playoff scenario: Any Tampa Bay loss and the Saints qualify. Why? Because the Giants and Packers play each other, so the Saints won’t be able to get caught by the loser (they own the tiebreaker over the Giants). This means Tampa would be the only other team besides the winner of that game that could catch them. If they lose, they can’t catch them. So while you’re waiting with burning anticipation for the Saints to stick it to Roddy White, root for Seattle to beat Tampa Bay on Sunday. A Seahawks win clinched a playoff birth for the Saints. Of course, the Saints also clinch by winning either of their last two games.
