It sounds like Clint Ingram is going to give it another shots with the Saints in training camp this year. Once a solid starter with the Jaguars, Ingram had microfracture surgery a little over a year ago and struggled to recover from it. He started last year on the Saints’ PUP list but the Saints decided he wasn’t far enough along in his recovery so they let him go. When he was originally signed by the Saints, there was hope he’s replace the recently departed Scott Fujita. Ingram was re-signed today by the Saints, so this time he’ll get a chance to compete as a healthy player. Worst case, he doesn’t make the team again, best case he’s recovered enough from his knee surgery that he can become a solid NFL starter again. It’s a low risk with potential for a high return. The linebacking core all of a sudden has a long list of promising players and the competition sounds like it’s going to be very stiff.
