July 28th is a day that will stay in memory as the busiest offseason day in team history. In my 30 years as a Saints fan, no day has ever poured out more news. Not even close. It’ll probably stay that way forever. In an effort to condense everything (i know, good luck with that), I’ve recapped the day below. This does not include the Will Herring and Lance Moore signings, which happened on July 27th.
Saints trade Reggie Bush to the Miami Dolphins for Jonathon Amaya and conditional draft picks.
Vikings sign free agent Remi Ayodele (former Saints’ starter)
Saints sign 7th round draft pick Greg Romeus
Saints sign 7th round draft pick Nate Bussey
Saints re-sign Jo-Lonn Dunbar
Saints re-sign Chris Reis
Browns sign free agent Usama Young (former Saints’ backup)
Saints sign 3rd round draft pick Johnny Patrick
Phew! How on earth did Mickey Loomis complete all of this in one day?
