The Pro Bowl squads just got announced and three Saints have received invitations, all three coming from the offensive side of the ball. They are Drew Brees, Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks. Congratulations to all three players on an outstanding season and well deserved recognition.
The biggest snub of the team, in my opinion, was Roman Harper, who was a no brainer addition to the squad based on how well he’s played all year. One could have made a case for Jonathan Vilma, Marques Colston and Thomas Morstead as well. To use the most overused and meaningless statement in the history of the world “it is what it is”. While Brees and Evans are premiere NFL players, I didn’t think either had their best season as a pro, so they easily could have been left off the squad if not for their name. I will say it was nice to see Carl Nicks finally get league wide recognition, as he emerges from the shadow of playing on the same interior line with Jahri Evans.
