With the game this past Thursday out of the way, the Saints can take it easy this Sunday as they get a nice 10 day rest period to recover and get ready for the Bears next Sunday. Of particular interest to the Saints this Sunday will be the Atlanta Falcons travelling to Chicago to play the Bears. This game features the Saints’ top division rival as well as the team they play next week. It’ll be interesting to see how sharp the Falcons are against a good team on the road and it’ll be important to analyze the Bears for weaknesses they can exploit in a week’s time. This game is scheduled for a 12 noon central time start and I know I’ll be paying close attention to it. There a good chance I say “God I hate Roddy White” more than five times during the course of the game. In fact, 5 is the over/under, and I suggest you bet the over.
Elsewhere in the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers travel to Arizona for a 3:15pm CST kickoff and the Tampa Bay Buccanneers host the Detroit Lions at 12 noon CST. Maybe I’m being ridiculously hopeful but I think there’s a decent chance that all three NFC South teams today lose their games. It would be nice if everyone in the division started 0-1 but that may be wishful thinking. Of course, watch them all win now that I’ve said that.
A little quick background on the picture above… it’s Jay Culter aggressively trying to kiss Matt Ryan postgame, but Matt Ryan explaining that as much as he’d like to he can’t because he already in a committed relationship with another man. That is a fact and it’s undeniable.
Enjoy your Sunday football watching and let’s hope for NFC South loses across the board. With no Saints today I’m sure most of us will focus on fantasy football instead, so good luck to the players you’ve got going.
