For me the playoffs have come down to rooting against the Atlanta Falcons and being satisfied with whatever other possible combination of results happen. In fact, I've been given the opportunity to attend the Super Bowl thanks to a close friend and I told him that I could only accept going if the Atlanta Falcons aren't in it. True story. If I had never been to one before I may have felt differently but I was fortunate enough to catch Brett Favre winning his only Super Bowl so that's already been scratched off my bucket list. The idea of Roger Goodell handing over the Lombardi Trophy to Roddy White is painful enough in theory, and to witness it in person in my team's own stadium is just something I am not prepared to endure. Quite simply, that experience would easily vault itself into the top 5 worst of my entire life and I am not exaggerating. It's sad that sports can have this affect on me, admittedly, but here we are. If the 49ers win, I will likely go.
Anyway, back to the games, I'm betting on the 49ers and Patriots to both win and cover the spread. If you like to Bet on NFL I think these picks personally are pretty solid
, but of course don't come looking for me if you're expecting any sort of guarantee. If you like to gamble as intensely as Ralph Malbrough, though, those would be my picks. I'm actually in a pick'em league and the tiebreaker is picking the scores. I picked the 49ers-Falcons' score as 500-0, so I guess I'll have to hope that doesn't come down to a tie. Clearly I'm biased and it's clouded my judgment, but I really do feel like a team that can run the ball, play defense and take care of the football is a horrible matchup for Atlanta. I really do think if the Falcons played the 49ers 10 times, the 9ers would win 7 or 8. The game is in the Georgia Dome, though, and the Falcons have this nasty habit of winning games they don't deserve this year.
Who are you picking in these games?
