It took a little while but Robert Meachem is back with the Saints, as expected. He signed a one year deal, likely for the veteran’s minimum to compete for a spot on the 53 man roster this season. The Saints’ official twitter account broke the news:

Bringing back Meachem was a no brainer, especially given the loss of Lance Moore. He’s a veteran that knows the system, blocks well, and will come back at a low cost. All that said Meachem clearly isn’t the player he once was as he seemed diminished last season. He finished with 16 receptions for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns last season.
