Saints tickets 10% below season average for Vikings game

The New Orleans Saints couldn’t get a home game at a much better time. After failing to silence the critics in regard to their inability to find success on the road, the Saints enter week three in search of their first win of the 2014 NFL season. That’s nothing a matchup with the Minnesota Vikings can’t cure, however. While the New Orleans Saints are almost certain to get to 1-2 against the Vikes this week, their fans are also likely to get a heck of a deal. Despite this matchup being New Orleans’ 2014 home opener, Saints vs Vikings tickets have an average price of $242.20 on the secondary market, as well as a $75 get-in price. That is over 10% below season average for New Orleans Saints tickets this season.

While it’s a solid value buy for New Orleans Saints fans, most of the fun will come in a hopeful beatdown, as New Orleans gets a Minnesota offense that will be sans star running back Adrian Peterson. Peterson was placed on the NFL’s exempt list on Wednesday and will not be with the team for the foreseeable future.

Matt Asiata will be tasked to carry the rushing load this week, which should allow the Saints to key in on explosive weapon Cordarrelle Patterson and also try to get inside quarterback Matt Cassel’s head. Cassel was easily rattled last week in a blowout loss, in which he tossed four interceptions and helped Minnesota to just one score.

The Saints probably aren’t in any real trouble even if Cassel and co. show up with a brilliant game plan, though, as Drew Brees and co. are almost always on top of their game at home. With the season arguably on the line, this one-time preseason Super Bowl contender should come out and dispatch the Vikings quickly and convincingly.
