A battle of 4-4 teams will commence when the San Francisco 49ers hit the road to face the New Orleans Saints. San Francisco, a team that has lost two straight games, dropped a gut-wrenching 13-10 decision last week at home to the St. Louis Rams. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick fumbled away a last second goal line snap to give St. Louis the victory. Kaepernick was sacked eight times as San Francisco’s offensive line had trouble blocking St. Louis’s army of talented pass rushers. When he wasn’t running away from oncoming rushers, Kaepernick completed 22-of-33 passes for 237 yards. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin led the way with six catches for 93 yards and one touchdown. Fans can expect to pay higher prices when the New Orleans Saints welcome in San Francisco.
According to TiqIQ, the average secondary market price for Saints tickets aginst the 49ers is $292.53 while the get-in price is $122. To date, this is New Orleans’s second most popular home game, 30% above the season average at the Superdome.
The New Orleans Saints have won two straight games and currently sit atop the NFC South. New Orleans parlayed a Sunday Night Football home victory over the Green Bay packers with a Thursday Night Football road victory over the Carolina Panthers to even their record at 4-4. Running back Mark Ingram has been the catalyst for New Orleans’s offense. Ingram ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 28-10 road victory over Carolina. Quarterback Drew Brees completed 24-of-34 passes for 297 yards and one touchdown.
On top of above average ticket prices, Brees will look for his fifth win in his sixth match-up against San Francisco. New Orleans dropped the last meeting against San Francisco, 34-24 in 2012. Expect an emotional home crowd to will Brees and Co. to their fifth victory.
