The league got a sample on Monday night of what a healthy Sam Bradford can do in Chip Kelly’s offense.
After a shaky first half in which Bradford completed 15 of 27 passes for 117 yards and an interception, Philly got rolling, and Bradford got hot. He finished the second half 21-of-25 for 219 yards, a touchdown, and an interception that bounced off the hand of his favorite target, Jordan Matthews.
The Eagles outscored and outplayed the Falcons in the second half, gassing the Atlanta defense before a terrible 3rd down run play was called, stalling a drive, and forcing a 44-yard field goal try that hooked to the right.
Why Coach Kelly made that call when Philly and Bradford were rolling will always be second guessed. In the meantime, it was nice to see Sam Bradford out on the field and looking impressive as he did in an offense that entirely suits his strengths.
