Get ready for some fireworks on Friday night in Fort Worth, Texas at the annual Scott G. Sherman “Boxing at The Ballroom” in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. This charity event benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth and professional boxing is provided by Fort Worth’s world champion Paulie Ayala and Paulie Ayala Promotions. The boxing event includes a lavish dinner, fantastic raffles and live and silent auctions, in addition to a great fight card that will be highlighted by Samuel “The Main Event” Clarkson (15-3, 9KO’s) from Cedar Hill, Texas.
Light Heavyweight Clarkson is stepping into the ring after knocking out top prospect Jerry Odom (13-2, 12KO’s) in the third round in July of this year on Showtime’s ShoBox: The Next Generation. Clarkson always brings excitement to the ring and expect to see the same on Friday night as he takes on veteran Rayford Johnson (11-18, 7KO’s) from Longview, Texas.
The Co-Main Event will be a battle of undefeated lightweights featuring Raul Cespedes (3-0, 3KO’s) from Las Vegas, Nevada against the tough Jesus Gonzalez (4-0, 2KO’s) from McKinney, Texas. Cespedes is a southpaw originally from Cuba and in his last fight he won by a knockout in the first round.
An exciting fight on the undercard that should not be missed is between Dallas’ undefeated featherweight Hector Valdez (3-0, 3KO’s) against Antonio Gutierrez (3-6, 1KO) from Matamoros, Mexico. The quick-handed Valdez also won his last fight in the first round and is looking to continue his winning streak
Looking to get back on the winning streak, Carlos Adame, Jr. (3-1, 2KO’s) from Dallas, Texas will go against LaVale Wilson from North Little Rock, Arkansas in a scheduled four round featherweight battle.
In the Heavyweight hitters of the night, Justin Jones (16-0-1, 9KO’s) from Houston, Texas will be going against Rory McRary (4-4, 3KO’s) in a scheduled six round bout.
Finally, in a battle of pro debuts, Samantha Salazar from Dallas, Texas is taking on Ashley King from Atlanta, Georgia in a scheduled four round match.
