Saturday in New York Times

Great piece on a great Colts

Starts blended together, interrupted by memorable games — the first victory that clinched a division title, the first playoff triumph and the American Football Conference championship in 2007. In that game Saturday directly contributed to two scores, recovering a fumble in the end zone and clearing another touchdown with what Manning jokingly nicknamed the Block.

But Dungy can sum up Saturday by his play on one afternoon, a playoff game against Denver in 2003. Two weeks earlier, the Broncos had beaten the Colts at home, with their defensive tackle Trevor Pryce harassing Manning. In the playoffs, Saturday voluntarily switched to guard.

“He shut it down, in a playoff game, against a Pro Bowl player,” Dungy said. “I’ve never seen that, before or since, but that’s Jeff Saturday, all the way.”
