With that, it’s ESPN Gameday Flag-Spotting time, and sure enough, the tradition continues. Crimson and Whitey, front and center yet again. Nice work to the crimson soldiers on the ground, fighting the good fight week after week after week.
But let me apologize for the general craptastic resolution of these pics. The usual source for these is not available today, so, instead I streamed ESPN Gameday on my PC and took some less-than-ideal screen caps (note – want to watch Gameday on your PC? Go to channelsurfing.net and fire up the ESPN stream. Better than nothing, right?). But whatever, hey, the key is that the flags are there, proudly flying in the breeze!
So, what’s your Saturday morning “feel” right now? I have to admit that I’m glad today is finally, finally here. We can stop speculating and trying to connect the dots, and we get to open that present under the tree….finally. Whether it’s a new flat-screen TV or a box filled with tighty-whitey undies, at least we’ll know??
My gameday feel is this – the Cougs are going to keep it close. I don’t see a first-half avalanche of points and turnovers, something we saw far too often the first two years of the Wulff regime. It is going to be different this year, and we’ll all have a reason to actually tune in during the second half, and not retreat to the RV lots/Coug/Valhalla/Dupus Boomers/wherever to commiserate. Nope, this year we have a reason to hang around. Will it translate to victories? Probably not many, and that is something I know many of us out there believe and understand. It can take a while to crawl out of the muck and come out clean on the other side, know what I mean? So while you wring your hands if the Cougs misfire on a few – or three – things tonight, do NOT forget how deep this hole was to begin with. Enjoy yourself, but keep it in perspective (hard as that is as an NCAA fan!).
As far as links-n-such today, Grippi has you covered with pretty much everything in Cougville, as well as around the Pac-10.
That’s it for now. We’ll be back after the game, and probably a little something tomorrow as well. Enjoy yourself, and of course, GO COUGS!
