In a mostly boring game, Mikko Koivu started off the night with quite an awkward tumble. Koivu is having a Selke caliber year and has 32 points in 38 games, a very good mark that puts him on a career record pace. The video below shows what happened on the play.
It looks like a harmless play at first glance. Koivu loses an edge and runs into the wall at an awkward angle. The Blue Jackets broadcast initially reported that Koivu went to the hospital after the play. Michael Russo of the Star Tribune later confirmed that report.

Hoping all is well for the Finnish foward as any time a player is rushed to the hospital is very, very scary.
