Saying Goodbye To T.J. Oshie + The Friday Links

sessionsnosmile

The Blues have been in existence for almost 50 years now and they’re still searching for that first Stanley Cup.

On Thursday, the day before most of America celebrates America with a day off work, they traded American hero and pretty good NHL player T.J. Oshie to the Washington Capitals.

Which gave us the the prompt we needed to find this:

Perfect.

Always will welcome an excuse to remember that awesome moment for the US and Mr. Oshie.

But not dissimilar to many, many other players and coaches the STL franchise has employed, his greatest success will not come donning the blue note. Barring a Blackhawks like run from the Caps this upcoming decade, what you see above will be his legacy.

A damn fine one, if you ask me. Just not one that helped the Blues win a championship.

Best of luck to T.J. in Washington. Let’s hope his trade for Troy Brouwer (and a couple other pieces) works out well and propels the Blues deep into April ’16.

Fingers crossed.

Now, The Friday Links…

That’s it. That’s the work week. Actually, here’s hoping you never actually get to this post and you’re off doing something super fun this Friday instead of working.

Now don’t say we didn’t give you a heads up on what to do this weekend.
