The downtown student bookstore, which has a mural that spans its side wall, has already altered its image once since the Jerry Sandusky Scandle hit the university. While the students were away on winter break, however, the mural extended to the back of the store with this image:
The blue ribbon around the lion’s neck is meant to symbolize awareness for child abuse, and the mural seems to be another gesture by the university to show that it does indeed want to become a stronger and better school in the wake of such a horrifying tragedy.
