Schein Booms on the D

This is a no brainer.

4. Indy’s defense is for real.

This was a boom even before the optimism that star safety Bob Sanders was going to return.

I am buying in.

Larry Coyer has done a fantastic job with this defense. The unsung hero is Antoine Bethea, who has had an incredible flair for the big play. Bethea leads the Colts in tackles, has two picks and has forced and recovered fumbles. He is a run stuffer and a ball hawk. You can most certainly make the case that Bethea has been one of the top three safeties in the NFL this year.

Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are excellent rush ends. Freeney has a sack in seven straight games, and Mathis has four ½ in his last four.

Gary Brackett is the glue, and Sanders is one of the best players in the sport when healthy.
