One of the things I pick up when I listen to Bucs Head Coach Greg Schiano, is his level of confidence. To me, Schiano has the confidence of Jon Gruden, without the smuggness or self absorption. Gruden would tell you he was gonna beat you, and if he did, he’d let everyone know. But if he didnt, he’d tell you it was because of injuries.
Schiano comes across more Dungyesque in his refusal to make excuses, something few gave Raheem Morris credit for the last 3 years. Morris was often accused of throwing a few players under the bus, but it was more a case of trying to bring accountability to the players and the team.
Schiano brings that accountability in his no-nonsense approach to the Bucs: you can like it, or you can leave it. Kellen Winslow is in Seattle. Tanard Jackson has joined Morris with the Redskins. This 2012 Bucs team is going to sink or swim, but they are going to do it with Schiano’s fingerprint all over the stuff, that you can best believe.
It may turn out to be a mess, or it may be a thing of beauty, but Schinao is going to come off shining any way you look at it. Year two and three of course, is another story all together.
