The honors keep rolling in for Cincinnati. First it was being honored with their highest ranking in a decade, now it’s Sean Kilpatrick being named the conference player of the week.
Kilpatrick posted games of 28 and 18 last week to take the honor. He’s scored at least 18 points in each of the last six games, which is a career best streak. Killa has been playing some great basketball and really deserves the honor. Many people have said it, but he’s definitely got to be in the driver’s seat for conference player of the year.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the week-ending Feb. 2.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sean Kilpatrick • Sr. • G • Cincinnati
Kilpatrick led Cincinnati to its 13th and 14th consecutive wins to keep the Bearcats unbeaten in American Athletic Conference play. He scored 28 points, including 12 of the Bearcats’ final 14 points, in a 69-66 win at No. 12/7 Louisville. He added 18 points, including Cincinnati’s last eight points, in a 50-45 win against USF. Kilpatrick averaged 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the two games and was 17-of-17 from the free throw line. For the season, Kilpatrick is averaging a league-leading 19.4 points per game.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Chris Perry • Fr. • F • USF
Perry averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game and shot 70.6 percent from the field (12 of 17) as the Bulls split a pair of games. He scored 18 points with eight rebounds in a 78-71 win against SMU. He had 13 points and seven rebounds in a 50-45 loss to No. 13/15 Cincinnati. Perry leads all American Athletic Conference freshmen in scoring this season with 9.6 points per game.
