I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. I know I did until last night, when I couldn’t sleep and tossed and turned. It was not a lot of fun. But that paled in comparison to what probably every Ohio State fan was doing. With the Jim Tressel resignation, and Terrelle Pryor probably not going to play this year, and the probable major NCAA sanctions that are coming their way, it’s not looking good for our friends in Columbus. People complain about Kentucky basketball fans being the worst, but I think Ohio State fans are their football loving cousins. Nothing is worse than a group of pissed off Kentucky fans, let’s get that straight. Right Daniel Orton? But Ohio State fans are also crazy. Look at Lance McAlister’s twitter from yesterday. I don’t know how you blame the media for being out to get you, when your coach and your players brazenly cheat. If a scandal like this happened at UC, I wouldn’t blame the media for taking UC to task. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Ohio State.
It’ll also be interesting to see what takes place tonight, when the NBA Finals kick off in Miami. I’m not a giant NBA fan by any means, but the team I’ve loved watching the most has been Dallas. I thought they were gonna lose to Portland when they blew the 20 point lead in game 3. Yet, they closed out the Blazers. I, like mostly everyone, thought the Lakers would take them down. Oklahoma City is my 2K team, yet, I rooted for Dallas to dispatch them. The team no one is rooting for is Miami. I was in awe of their game 5 close out against the Bulls, but also hated it. I’m on the Dallas bandwagon. This might be the first time ever there was a Dallas bandwagon. For basketball. No one has more bandwagon fans when they are good than the Dallas Cowboys. Let’s go Mavs.
Speaking of hoops, that brings us to part 3 of the Sean Kilpatrick documentary of his offseason. This time, we get a peak behind the curtain to see what Kila did on Memorial Day. To, spoiler alert, answer his question, no, Michael Jordan didn’t take Memorial Day off. He was always in the playoffs. And it’s ridiculous that Scottie Pippen said LeBron James could be a better player than Jordan. It was more ridiculous that he back tracked. If you are gonna pop off, stand by your words Pippen. Don’t change them just because you caught heat. It’s your opinion. Stand by it.
