The Seattle Mariners started out strong and now they are dwindling fast. Please help us! Why in the world are we benching players in clutch situations? Get Franklin Gutierrez out of the picture! Nah, I like him, but still—Kelly Shoppach should’ve batted in Game 2 versus the Chicago White Sox. What was Eric Wedge thinking? Perhaps I am a bit emotional, but Wedge recruited him. He has, himself, played backup catcher, and when he is in a game—he NEEDS HIS TURN TO SHINE. Don’t rob him of that, because if you do, you are basically SLAPPING YOURSELF HARD ACROSS THE CHEEKS!
Ugh.
Michael Morse is doing amazing and has stood out from the get-go. From his many home runs during spring play, as many as all-time home run leader Barry Bonds hit in 2003, he has now tied Ken Griffey Jr.’s home run record, having 4 in the first 4 games of the regular season. The team is just trying to keep up with him. But, that’s not an excuse. These are games, people, and if you look at the Los Angeles Angels roster—Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton are in slumps right now—you have to step up your game. The Sox have Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, and Adam Dunn, among others. Raul Ibanez apologized for not coming through in Game 2. Yes, he should. He has fans, and games, on the line. He is not coming through, and when he is out, leave him out! What, are we pretending that his hamstring is NOT going to be pulled next week?! It’s not like that didn’t exactly happen in Spring Break—again. Shoppach was a good grab and exactly who we needed! Get it straight, Skipper! Why are you our Skipper if you don’t even give YOURSELF a chance?
Honestly has anyone ever heard of the Golden Rule??? Jesus tells us to love our neighbor as our self. Well, that certainly didn’t happen—and I DON’T CARE about the braniacs staring at the television, analyzing like a calc, and not getting anything done. Skipper Eric Wedge—win.
