The South Carolina Gamecocks are on the brink of doing what so many said could not happen at South Carolina. I have a good feeling about this game. If you recall, SC had the Tigers on the ropes last game but some costly turnovers late swayed the outcome in the favor of Auburn. Spurrier and crew know Auburn can be beaten it is a matter of going out there and doing it.
Auburn you are on UPSET ALERT!
Let me leave with some final thoughts on this game:
Don’t get me wrong as Auburn is a very good team as seen in their record and ranking. Cam Newton is the best player in college football. It takes an entire team effort on defense to stop him but he can be limited. Notice I said limited as he is too good to stopped completely. If Carolina can limit Cam on the ground then SC has a legit shot. I say this because the USC secondary is peaking and ready to prove they are good.
The SC offense must be balanced today as Auburn will be looking to slow Lattimore so Garcia and his passing will need to be accurate. It boils down in my view to USC’s ability to move the chains. Keep the AU offense off the field. Watch for USC’s success on third downs. If USC can do well in that stat it will lead to good things.
USC special teams have to be special today like they did against Clemson last week. Spencer Lanning and his foot have to play like a champion today. He has to punt the ball like no other and I truly feel his foot late will be needed to seal a win.
