SEC Predictions: Week Ten

predstb

I went 6-0 last week in straight up games but just 2-3 against the spread. For the year, I'm 64-14 (82%) in straight up picks and 40-32 (55.6%) against the spread.

Mississippi State (4-3, 1-2) at #14 South Carolina (6-2, 4-2)

12:21 PM EST, SEC TV

Line: South Carolina by 12

The Gamecocks are coming back home after a huge come from behind win over Missouri. The Gamecocks must win to keep their SEC Title hopes alive. Mississippi State has beaten teams they are better than and have lost to everyone they've played that was better than them. At this point there is no reason to think that the Bulldogs will suddenly become someone they aren't and win this game. I like South Carolina in a game that will probably land right around the point spread.

Prediction: South Carolina 28 Mississippi State 17

Georgia (4-3, 3-2) vs Florida (4-3, 3-2)

3:30 PM EST, CBS

Line: Georgia by 3

Both of these two teams have been ravaged by injury this year but they both still have an outside shot at the SEC East title. With Todd Gurley back, I like Georgia in this one to win a tight, ugly game.

Prediction: Georgia 24 Florida 15

#11 Auburn (7-1, 3-1) at Arkansas (3-5, 0-4)

6 PM EST, ESPN2

Line: Auburn by 7.5

Auburn has been one of the biggest surprises of the year and Arkansas seems to be getting worse as the season progresses. Arkansas has lost their last two games by a combined 97 points. I don't expect them to get blown out here at home but I do expect them to lose by more than a TD.

Prediction: Auburn 35 Arkansas 21

Tennessee (4-4, 1-3) at #9 Missouri (7-1, 3-1)

7 PM EST, ESPN

Line: Mizzou by 10.5

Freshman Joshua Dobbs gets his first career start in this game for the Vols. Michael Sam and the Mizzou defense will be looking to get back on track after a disappointing meltdown last week. Look for this game to be close early and Mizzou to pull away late as Tennessee hasn't been very good on the road this season.

Prediction: Missouri 34 Tennessee 17

Alabama State (6-2) at Kentucky (1-6)

7:30 PM EST

Kentucky wins! Finally….

Prediction: Kentucky 31 Alabama State 14

UTEP (1-6) at #12 Texas A&M Aggies (6-2)

9 PM, ESPN2

Line: A&M by 47

I think we know how this one is going to end. The big question is if the Aggies will cover. I'm going to say no because I think Manziel comes out early after the Aggies get up big.

Prediction: Texas A&M 51 UTEP 14
