Seminoles Fall Eight Spots in AP Poll After Loss

As a result of falling 22-16 to previously 2-5 Georgia Tech on Saturday night, Florida State fell eight spots in this week’s Associated Press Poll from ninth to No. 17.

In the Amway Coaches Poll, the Seminoles fell six spots to No. 15. FSU remains one of four ranked ACC teams. The Seminoles are joined by Clemson, Duke and Pittsburgh.

Clemson is third in the AP Poll this week after handling Miami 58-0. Duke and Pittsburgh each won on the final play of the game, beating Virginia Tech and Syracuse respectively.

Duke is 18th in this week’s AP Poll and 22nd in the Coaches. Pittsburgh is 23rd in the AP Poll and 24th in the Coaches.

Defending national champion Ohio State and Baylor held the top two spots in each poll. Behind No. 3 Clemson in the AP Poll were LSU and TCU.

In the Coaches Poll, TCU is third, follwed by LSU and Michigan State.

Florida State will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season on Saturday as it plays host to Syracuse.
