Florida State earned its second road conference victory in their last game against Virginia Tech, but will face much stiffer competition this week.

On Monday, February 9th the Seminoles welcome the visiting Duke Blue Devils to the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Blue Devils are coming off one of the most impressive conference victories of the season thus far; demolishing 10th ranked Notre Dame by 30 points this past Saturday. Duke has won three straight games including a win at conference leading Virginia when they were ranked No. 2 in the country.

Florida State’s two leading scorers, Junior guard Aaron Thomas and Freshman Xavier Rathan-Mayes, probably do not want to get into a shootout with the Blue Devils. Duke ranks ninth nationally in points per game, scoring 80.6 points per game while Florida State scores 68.5 points per game. Duke has the luxury of having outside sharpshooters who are paired with likely No. 1 2015 NBA Draft pick Jahlil Okafor, who leads the team with 18.2 points per game.

The Seminoles have a second game this week, when they play Georgia Tech on the road on February 14th.
