With top-ranked Virginia lurking over the weekend, Florida State took care of business at home against Stetson. In what was just a two-game series, the Seminoles had little trouble with the Hatters, winning both games by a combined 17-3 score. With the pair of victories, FSU improved to 32-9 on the season, including 19-3 at home. Here is a brief look back at the short set:

Tuesday, April 22nd
Florida State starting pitcher Billy Strode allowed just two hits over six shutout innings to earn his first win of the season. Strode issued a pair of walks, but recorded five strikeouts. Gage Smith and Jameis Winston combined to throw three innings of shutout relief. Justin Gonzalez had three hits and a RBI for the Seminoles while John Nogowski scored two of the four FSU runs.
Stetson 3, Florida State 13
Wednesday, April 23rd
Wednesday’s 13-run effort tied the second highest offensive output by Florida State this season. Jose Brizuela, John Sansone and Ben DeLuzio each drove in a pair of runs for the Seminoles while John Nogowski touched home three times. Two of Stetson’s three runs came off the bat of catcher Patrick Mazeika, including a solo home run in the first. Five FSU pitchers combined to hold the Hatters to five hits.
