Following Saturday’s 27-2 beatdown of rival Florida, Florida State climbed into the top 10 of the traditional polls for the first time in more than a month.

FSU now sits at No. 9 in the Amway Coaches Poll and 10th in the AP Poll. The Seminoles were previously 14th in each of the polls.

FSU is now one of three ACC schools ranked in the top 10. Clemson remains atop both of the traditional polls while North Carolina comes in at No. 8 in each poll.

Alabama remained behind the Tigers at No. 2 in each poll. In the AP Poll, Oklahoma is third, followed by undefeated Iowa. Iowa holds the third spot in the Coaches Poll with Oklahoma coming in at No. 4. Michigan State rounded out the top 5 in each poll, followed by defending national champion Ohio State and No. 7 Stanford. In the AP Poll, Notre Dame occupied the No. 9 spot between North Carolina and FSU. The Fighting Irish round out the top 10 in the Coaches Poll.

With Saturday’s victory, Florida State could be in line to play in a New Year’s Six bowl with the Peach Bowl in Atlanta the most likely destination. The Seminoles will learn their bowl fate next Sunday.
