Senators Looking for New CFO?

One day removed from the Senators’ decision to fire head coach Paul MacLean and replace him with his assistant coach, Dave Cameron, the organization is looking to fill two executive positions.

Not only are the Senators looking to fill their ‘Director of Strategic’ development, they’re also apparently on the search for a new ‘Chief Financial Officer’.

I have not heard any news pertaining to Erin Crowe, the organization’s executive vice-president, CFO and alternate governor, so I’m not really sure whether she has left the organization or whether her duties are just being scaled back. According to her profile on the Senators’ website, Crowe has held the CFO duties since 2003.

Regardless, the Senators are accepting applications and details for the position can be read here.

I’ve looked through the job parameters and a few things stand out:

1. The organization’s vision is to “Celebrate a Stanley Cup win in Hockey Country“.

2. In the ‘Keys and Responsibilities’ section, the CFO will be well versed in ‘debt and equity management’.

3. I don’t know why, but in the ‘Reporting Relationships’ section, the inclusion of: “Supplementary: periodic reporting to Eugene Melnyk” made me chuckle.

Get your resumes in Ottawa and don’t forget to let the organization know how important cost per point is in your cover letter.
