The Brewers head out on the road again, this time for their first visit to Denver for their first ’08 meeting with the NL Champion Colorado Rockies. The Brewers were 2-4 against the Rockies last year.
Pitching Probables:
Friday, June 6, 8:05 p.m. CT: RHP Ben Sheets (6-1, 2.71) vs. RHP Ubaldo Jimenez (1-6, 5.37)
Saturday, June 7, 7:05 p.m. CT: RHP Dave Bush (2-5, 5.49) vs. RHP Greg Reynolds (0-3, 5.72)
Sunday, June 8, 2:05 p.m. CT: RHP Jeff Suppan (3-4, 3.93) vs. LHP Jeff Francis (2-5, 5.53)
Things to look for:
- Sheets is 1-1, 6.61 over 3 starts over the last three years against the Rockies…has the Brewers’ ace learned how to beat them this year now that they are down on their luck a bit?
- The Rockies didn’t see Dave Bush last year…and Bushie is 1-0 in 1 start against them over the last three years, keeping the Rockies scoreless over 6 IP in a 2006 start. Will this lack of seeing Bush give him an edge?
- The Rockies have the worst ERA in the NL over the past 30 days with a 4.79 ERA, while the Brewers are second in the NL in that same timeframe with a 3.69 ERA. Is this enough advantage for the Brewers to stay hot?
