vs.Angels

MONDAY, 9/6: Matt Garza vs. C.J. Wilson: Dream-killers

Matt Garza is slated to start an important series for the Halos against the Texas Rangers. Important for the Rangers, I should say. They're in a hot race with the Oakland A's for the division lead and I can guarantee they have no intention of settling for the wildcard spot after last years fiasco. This is the perfect time for the Angels to play spoiler and kill the playoff dreams of the Texas Rangers. Wilson has been quite strong on the mound as of late, and if anyones going to spoil the Rangers season why not have it be the Angels? They'll have their season ruined by some team, may as well be us.

TUESDAY, 9/7: Derek Holland vs. Garrett Richards: Back to the top

Both of these starters are high ceiling guys who have been coming off a rough stretch. Well, Richards has the high ceiling, Holland is already living out his potential. While Holland has been pitching strongly as of late his team has been having a hard time getting him the wins. Richards, while having a nice rebound in the second half, is coming off a weak start against the Rays. While both of these starters want to get back to being on top of the world only one will be able to do so.

WEDNESDAY, 9/8: Toobie Determined vs. Jason Vargas: Having your cake and eating it too

This start should be something of a cakewalk for Jason Vargas, who has dominated the Rangers in two starts. In these starts Vargas has posted a sub-3 ERA in 12 innings against the Texas Rangers. While it's easy to say the Angels will sweep the Rangers because of fanboyism it's very much a possibility in this series. It's at home with the Angels offense red hot and the pitching putting up decent innings. This could be one to spoil many dreams in Texas.

MISERY INDEX

TAGLINE: THIS TIME, THE MISERY IS ON YOU!

This is one of the few instances where the Angels can put some serious pain on their opponents. The Rangers are fighting hard for a top spot in the division; hell, you could even say they're fighting desperately. After what happened last season no way they'll let the division lead slip through their fingers. Too bad for them they didn't count on the ever-underachieving Angels to put a stop to their playoff push!

While the Angels season died long ago I think it's time we killed the Rangers season, right here, right now!
