Seth Curry exploded for 15 points in the fourth quarter Sunday night at the Las Vegas Summer League, leading the Phoenix Suns back from an 8-point fourth quarter deficit to win 93-82 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

“I got some good looks. I was trying to get open without the ball,” Curry said. “My teammates were finding me, coach drew up some good plays for me, so it felt good.”

After scoring 11 points in 11 minutes through the first three quarters, Curry played the entire fourth quarter, going 4-4 from beyond the arc and 3-3 from the free throw line.

“Felt like anything I threw up was going to go in,” Curry said.

Curry finished the game with 26 points on 7-9 shooting (5-7 from 3PT), and also added 2 assists and 2 steals.

Curry spent last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 19.7 points and assists while making the D-League All-Star Game and helped lead the Warriors to the D-League Finals.

Santa Cruz still holds Curry’s rights for one more season, but the Golden State Warriors organization can’t prevent him from signing with another NBA team unless they offer him a contract first.

“In summer league you’re playing for all 30 teams in the league,” Curry said. “Everybody can see what you’re doing and nobody has my rights or nothing like that, so I’m just going out there trying to compete and show what I can do.”

After playing in the Orlando Summer League, Curry got off to a slow start in Las Vegas. He’d had limited practice time, and likely limited sleep, before Phoenix’s first game against the Warriors, and it showed.

Seth went just 3-9 from the field for just 6 points, without a made three-pointer in his Las Vegas debut.

“It’s a big transition. You could probably see it last game, I was a little rusty,” Curry said. “I didn’t know the plays, kind of hesitant, especially when you’re playing point guard.”
