Seven Things I think I saw during Tampa Bay Buccaneers dominance over Kansas CIty

sabby grimmSabby grimmly stares down man who has his old job. The Better Goat lost.

1– Thomas Jones made a long run right and was pushed out of bounds by Cody Grimm & EJ Biggers. After the play, Thomas turned and went after Cody, who just shrugged it off and laughed, like the Old Salty Vet he is. In the background, Sabby Piscitelli is glaring at Cody the whole time with pure hate and venom in his eyes. “You took my job man”. Yes he did, the best man won.

2On that same play, because it was the Chief’s best play of the game, Michael Bennett gets blocked in the back, to the ground, which sprung Thomas Jones in the first place for the long gain. Hey, we are Buc Fans and we’re used to it.

3– In the first quarter, I think (since I really don’t know anything for sure) it was 3’rd and 1 for the BucsbackblockYup, Just the way they teach it- only if you see the numbers! and Josh Freeman hands the ball off to LeGarrette Blount who ran it right up the gut behind a powerful offensive line surge for about 5 yards and a first down. At the end of the play LeGarrette Blount is on the ground and our boy, Sabby Piscitelli comes in late and spears LeGarrette right in the back. Jeff Faine takes exception, but Josh Freeman steps in.

4– Adrian Clayborn is a Beast. He’s an everywhere man. When I watched the game again today, much in slowwwwwww motionnnnnnn. #94 was in every frame, here, there, everywhere, backfield, downfield and. He makes plays running across the field from side to side, and first impressions are this guy has about 800 horses under the hood. He’s a defensive end right? I think he is a hybrid linebacker as well, based on his constant pursuit.

5– Quincy Black, stepping up, calling the defense, making tackles, hits, fumbles. In my most humble opinion, he had a great game. He caused a fumble on a run play right after Adrian Clayborn (again) grabbed Jackie Battle’s arm, put his helmet on the ball and pop. On the Chief’s second play from scrimmage he blew up the running back for no gain. Quincy has had his critics about being invisible at times and not reaching his potential. Last night was not the case and we did not miss Barrett Ruud.

6– “The Tampa Bay linebackers are a weakness. They have to re-sign Barrett Ruud or another big name free agent”. How many times did I hear this in the offseason? Brian Baldinger, Pat Kirwan, Jamie Dukes, blah, blah, blah. Mason Foster has a knack for finding the ball. He is aggressive and not afraid of contact or laying the wood. Geno Hayes needs to keep working hard but he has to change the perception of his inconsistency. Last night he did not do that. However, Dekoda Watson, Adam Hayward, & Tyrone McKenzie may be the best backup trio in the NFC. I believe that Dekoda Watson may faze Geno Hayes out of his starting role and relegate him back to special teams where he shines. I do not see this linebacker corps as weak or wanting as a group. They were all over the field attacking the play.

7- “Dreads” have mystical powers. Think about all the NFL Players with dreads and look at their stats. My son first brought this to my attention a couple years ago and he has a good point. Chris Johnson, Josh Cribbs, Larry Fitzgerald, Darnell Dockett, Stephen Jackson, you get the picture. Adrian Clayborn and EJ Biggers are 2 of our very own and they are not an exception to this rule. LeGarrette Blount and Josh Freeman should consider this and LeGarrette does put his hair in corn rows from time to time, so I say “LeGarrette get on this, and run for 2000 yards this season.”
