Share Your Seminole Story: Best FSU-Related Gift You’ve Received

marquis

In this week’s edition of “Share Your Seminole Story”, Noled Out’s readers were asked what the best Florida State-related gift they ever received was.

From the Staff
This is a tough one, because I’ve been given so many and I appreciate them all. I was surprised by my uncle with tickets to the Gator Bowl following the 2001 season and by my wife with Orange Bowl tickets after the 2012 season, but the best would probably be a graduation gift.

After I graduated from FSU in May of 2009, a close friend of mine gave me season tickets for the 2009 season. That didn’t turn out to be a great year as the ‘Noles finished just 7-6 with a loss to South Florida and narrow home victories over FCS Jacksonville State and a Maryland team that finished just 2-10.

That season however, would turn out to be the last in the legendary career of head coach Bobby Bowden and I was in attendance for what turned out to be both he and Mickey Andrews’ last game at Doak Campbell Stadium. Lonnie Pryor scored a late touchdown to give FSU a 29-26 victory.
