Sharks Play Spoiler in Soul’s Home Opener

Philadelphia, PA: On the night of their home opener, the Soul took to the Wells Fargo Center under the lights on primetime, as the Monday night game was aired on the CBS Sports Network. After crushing Cleveland 69-41 in their first game, the team would have to wait ten days before taking on Jacksonville for the first time since losing to them in last year’s conference championship game. Some could argue that the lay-off and spotty officiating could have impacted the team’s loss, however kicker Tommy Frevert missed an extra point that would have tied the game as time expired in the first half and the rest of team would go on to play a sloppy second half. Multiple turnovers and poor defense allowed the Sharks to run away with the game as they would go on to score 24 unanswered points from the four-minute mark in the 3rd until there was 2:05 remaining in the 4th. The Sharks would go on to defeat the Soul 59-41.
