Ben Sheets pitched a gem for the Brewers on Saturday night. In fact, he finally kept pace with teammate CC Sabathia. Sheets pitched a complete game shutout in the Brewers 6-0 win over the Nationals. Sheets struck out six while allowing only five hits and no walks. The win was Sheets’ 11th on the season.
Ray Durham, JJ Hardy, and Corey Hart all hit home runs for the Crew. Durham and Hardy each had two hits on the night. Hart led the team with two RBIs.
Ryan Braun left the game in the third inning due to lower back tightness. Coincidentally, Braun shot a commercial yesterday with supermodel Marissa Miller. The two couldn’t be related, could they?
Anyhow, Manny Parra takes the mound for the Brewers on Sunday as they look to win their fourth game in a row. The Cardinals beat the Cubs on Saturday so the Brewers are four back of the Cubs and two in front of the Cards for the Wild Card.
