Just a quick look at the Ohio State win over UNC Wilmington today. I’m on a trip and couldn’t actually see the game, so the proper recap will be posted by Jay later.
- 5 Buckeyes made double figures: William Buford (12), Jared Sullinger (11), David Lighty (10), Deshaun Thomas (17) and Jordan Sibert (11). This was compared to only 2 UNCW players: Chad Tomko (13), and Matthew Wallace (14).
- Jared Sullinger missed his 3rd straight double double, only collecting 8 rebounds.
- Buford had a great game with 5 assists and no turnovers. He also added 6 rebounds and a steal to that line.
- All 10 Buckeyes who played scored points. This includes JD Weatherspoon and Lenzelle Smith.
- The Buckeyes shot 45.3% (29-64) from the field and 34.5% (10-29) from three. I’m a little worried about the three point shooting so far this season, but that’s an improvement over the last couple games. Though, I definitely prefer us getting wins without the three.
- UNCW hit only 31.6% (18-57) from the floor and 18.8% (3-16) from three. Good defense guys.
- The Buckeyes beat UNCW in the following statistics: Rebounding (47-24), Assists (16-7), Steals (9-3), Blocks (6-3) – 5 were from Lauderdale.
Look for a more comprehensive recap later tonight or tomorrow!
