WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Warriors hosted LPGA champion Lydia Ko today after morning shootaround, and golf aficionados Andre Iguodala and Stephen Curry took part in a putting contest with her.
A “hole”, basically a small sideways box about two feet wide, was setup on a far basket stanchion and each of the three took turns from the opposite stanchion. A regulation NBA court is 94 feet from endline to endline, and each putter started under the near stanchion’s basket, so the “hole” was essentially 94 feet away.
Each of their three balls tailed to the right, indicating that the Warriors practice facility probably had a slope.
“This bootleg court!” exclaimed Iguodala.
“This is a setup, man,” said an exasperated Curry, who also asked Ko what kind of grip she uses to putt. Curry, apparently, interlocks his fingers.
Sure enough, after two or three misses, Curry adjusted, set up his golf ball about a yard to the left to compensate for the slope, and fired away.
The ball narrowly missed the “hole” by a few inches to the left. The video shows the ball hooking a bit, as well:

“An ‘A’ for effort,” said Curry.
Later, the three traded autographed golf balls.
In the media scrum, Curry was asked about his near-miss. “I’ll count that one, for sure,” he said.
