Sights & Sounds From Smoothie King Center: Warriors Game 3 Postgame Celebrations

[NOTE: Unfortunately, we’re not in New Orleans for Game 3 or 4, but gathered the following from various sources.]

The Golden State Warriors had just gotten done with a 20-point fourth quarter comeback to steal Game 3 and take a 3-0 lead over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson did post-game interviews with TNT and CSN Bay Area, while Draymond Green celebrated in the locker room.

Green’s enthusiasm was captured by Bleacher Report:

“You got a hustler’s mentality,” Green said, “anything is possible.”

Meanwhile, as Curry and Thompson’s interviews ended, they headed back through the tunnel by courtside to the locker room.

Yahoo Sports’ NBA writer Marc Spears captured the moment:

Spears wrote:

After the game, a small contingent of Warriors fans stuck around to chant “MVP” for Curry before he left the floor. Curry waved to acknowledge his adorers, pumped his right fist in the air before throwing a towel into the crowd and running off the court.
.
“It feels good,” Curry said. “It hasn’t really sunk in just yet.”

In a radio interview with KNBR this morning, Curry mentioned the Warriors fans.

“At the end of the game we’re all pumped up, you know, yelling, screaming, just enjoying the moment, that huge comeback,” Curry told KNBR’s Gary Radnich and Larry Krueger. “There were about a hundred Warrior fans that stuck around by our tunnel after the game, chanting (pause), bringing that noise that Oracle does, so it was a great feeling.”

Not to turn a report into an editorial, but notice how Curry stopped short of saying “MVP”? Humble man.
