It wasn’t convincing or decisive, but the Golden State Warriors held on to win their 16th straight Las Vegas Summer League game 74-72 over the Phoenix Suns.

After a hot start, and a double-digit lead in the first half, the Warriors trialed in the second half by as many as 8, but fought back and held on late to win, despite a poor shooting night offensively. Justin Holiday lead all scorers with 29 points and hit the game-winning put-back

More sights and sounds of the game:

  • Justin Holiday‘s game-winning put-back off of Nemanja Nedovic’s airball 3PT attempt continued the Warriors winning streak to 16 games at Summer League since July 11, 2010.
  • Justin Holiday went off with 29 points and 13 rebounds, both game bests. He helped the Warriors build a 7-point lead at the end of the first half and was key in bringing them back after falling behind. His barrage of second quarter jumpers brought fans to their feet before he released.
  • Warriors assistant’s seem to be taking turns wearing the team’s official salmon-colored polo shirt. Today was Alvin Gentry‘s turn after Luke Walton wore a similar one yesterday.
  • Speaking of Gentry, he was visibly unhappy with the Warriors spacing offensively, spending much of the game discussing with fellow assistant Ron Adams.
  • Draymond Green and Joe Lacob talked courtside for much of the game
  • Another solid rebounding night for Ognjen Kuzmic, who finished with 10 rebounds. He now has 18 rebounds in48  minutes through two games.
  • Seth Curry‘s playing time was limited in his LVSL debut after joining the team well into practices because he was playing in the Orlando Summer League. Held to just 6 points and a rebound in 18 minutes.
  • The Warriors struggled offensively, shooting just 35.9% from the field for the game.
  • T.J. Warren was the most aggressive Suns player, leading all the Suns with 22 points.
  • Nemanja Nedovic, James Michael McAdoo, and Orlando Johnson, stars of the first game against Charlotte, combined to shoot just 8-29 from the floor, totaling 25 points.
  • The Warriors also struggled to take care of the basketball, posting 24 turnovers as a team to just 14 for Phoenix, who converted a number of steals into fast break baskets.
  • In the final minute of the game, Steve Kerr came off the bench very angrily (with most everyone else in Warriors gear) after a loose ball foul call on Aaron Craft. As he’s stated is his plan, he mostly kept to his seat.
