We’ll be updating this as news rolls out of Chicago today, but wanted to have a place where you can check in on the happenings.

  • Big surprise– Ohio State is picked to win the conference this year, followed by Iowa and Wisconsin.
  • Ditto– Terrelle Pryor picked as Pre-Season Offensive Player of the Year
  • TTUN- Rich Rod is currently speaking about the “pressure” against Ohio State, and is talking about not really feeling pressure other than just to play better. He also commented that The Game “may be the greatest rivalry in the history of sports”, and said that it should be kept as the last game of the season even with conference expansion.

In other news: Storm Klein and Nate Williams have been charged with misdemeanor assault, according to NBC4. No details are available other than what’s been reported, but we’ll keep you posted as this develops.

Update- The police report does not mention Klein or Williams– NBC4 has pulled their original story. Lori Schmidt adds “Sources tell 97.1 The Fan Storm Klein and Nathan Williams will NOT be charged with assault, despite reports they had already been charged.”

Update 2- From the Columbus Dispatch-

“At this point, we have no information regarding an arrest of two OSU football players,” Sgt. Isaac Bridges said. “We do have a police report that was filed, but there were no charges filed out of that incident as of yet, and the victim out of that was referred to the prosecutor’s office.”

Update 3- NBC4 issues an apology:

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two Ohio State football players have not been charged in a case of assault over the weekend as NBC 4 initially reported.

Columbus police reported Nate Williams and Storm Klein were suspects in the assault of a man at a party Sunday morning.

A Columbus police spokesperson says no charges have been filed at this time.
