Sim City is heading to Sacramento.
The Kings have made the call to Reno once again, this time bringing up 7-foot-5, 370-pound Sim Bhullar to join the club on a 10-day contract.
Undrafted out of New Mexico State, the Canadian born center of Indian descent has played well under Bighorns coach David Arseneault Jr. In 39 games in Reno, including 17 starts, Bhullar is averaging 10.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.9 blocks in 25.8 minutes per contest. In his final start for the Bighorns, Bhullar dropped in 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked five shots in the team’s 131-105 victory over the Bakersfield Jam.
Bhullar becomes the fifth Reno Bighorn to get an NBA call up this season, joining David Stockton (Kings), Quincy Miller (Kings), David Wear (Kings) and Jordan Hamilton (Pistons). The Kings will formally announce the signing once Wear’s 10-day contract expires later this week.
With DeMarcus Cousins expected to get rest down the stretch, George Karl now has another big body to throw at teams as the season winds down.
