In some good Red Sox news, David Ortiz hit his 50th homerun of the season last night in a losing effort rounding the bases to the tune “Simply the Best”. Big Papi tied the 68 year old franchise record held by Jimmie Foxx for most homeruns in a season. Ortiz also tied his own MLB record of 43 hrs as a designated hitter. Look for Big Papi to break the record before the end of the season as he build on his career high in homeruns.
