It seems everyone who owns a copy of NCAA 11 does this, but I am too. I’m going to sim the season with every Big East team and tell you how it goes. I’ll say how the team did, who won the Big East, who won the Heisman and who won the National Title. 8 times is the best simulation ever if you ask me. Let’s start with Cincinnati.
Cincinnati – Cincinnati finished up 6-6, 4-3 in the Big East. The champion was Pitt, who went 8-4, 5-2. UC matched up with Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl, which UC won, giving them 7 wins. Taylor Potts of Texas Tech won the Heisman. Wisconsin won the National Title game over Boise State.
Connecticut – UConn went 6-6 in the sim season, but a horrible 1-6 in the Big East, finishing tied with South Florida. West Virginia went 10-1, 7-0 to win the conference. Mark Ingram repeated to win the Heisman in a landslide. Boise State won the National Title over Alabama.
Louisville – Louisville had a fantastic season, going 8-4, 4-3 in the Big East. The champs were the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, who went 9-3, 6-1. Louisville went on to the Armed Forces Bowl against UTEP, which Louisville won to finish with 9 wins in Charlie Strong’s first season. Terrell Pryor won the Heisman. Ohio State won the National Title over Alabama.
Pittsburgh – Pitt went a disappointing 7-5, but finished 5-2 in the Big East. WestVirginia went 9-2, 7-0 to win though. Case Keenum won the Heisman over Jake Locker. Pitt went to the St Petersburg Bowl against UTEP. Like Louisville, Pitt dominated the Miners. That gave Pitt 8 wins. Alabama crushed Ohio State to win the National Title.
Rutgers – Rutgers tore things up, going 10-2 and 6-1 in the Big East. The problem is, so did Pitt and they tied. Case Keenum once again won the Heisman. Rutgers ended up going to the GMAC Bowl against Ohio, which would suck for them. Rutgers won 40-13 for win 11. Oklahoma won the title over Wisconsin.
South Florida – The Bulls went 5-7, 2-5 in this simulation. The 6th place finish is the best so far in 7 tries. West Virginia went 10-1, 7-0. The Bulls are always finishing low. Louisville always finishes in the middle. EA loves Louisville. Ryan Mallett of Arkansas won the Heisman. Wisconsin once again won the National Title, this time over Arkansas.
Syracuse – The Orange went 6-6, 3-4 in the Big East. That was a 5th place finish. West Virginia was 10-1, 6-1 to share with Pitt, who was 9-3, 6-1. The Mountaineers went to the BCS though. Ryan Broyles of Oklahoma won the Heisman in a close vote over Greg McElroy of Bama. Wisconsin won the title game over Alabama.
West Virginia – The sim season for West Virginia was perfect. The Mountaineers once again won the Big East, but this time went undefeated, 11-0, 7-0. Terrell Pryor walked away with the Heisman. WVU played Ohio State for the National Title, but fell.
To recap: West Virginia won the Big East the most times. Wisconsin is loved by EA. Pryor and Case Keenum are Heisman favorites. And this took entirely too long. Look for post 2 later today.
